A favorite family tradition that I make every year and I do tend add chocolate kisses or mini peanut butter cups to change it up a bit. All depends on the deals I can get will decide which way I go with changing them up.
Peanut Butter Cookies
1/2 C. granulated (white) sugar
1/2 C. packed brown sugar ( I used light)
1/4 C. butter or margarine, softened
1/4 C. shortening
1/2 C. -1 C. peanut butter
1 1/4 C. all purpose flour (not self-rising)
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Mix the first 6 ingredients together. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours.
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Shape into 1 1/4 in. balls or use the mini cookie scoop. Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten in crisscross pattern with fork dipped in flour. Bake until light brown, about 9-10 min. Cool 2 min. Remove from cookie sheet.
